We are delighted to announce that on June 27, 2008, MDS Analytical Technologies completed its acquisition of Blueshift Biotechnologies (Sunnyvale, CA). As a result, Blueshift Biotechnologies' premier product, IsoCyte™, and all supporting personnel, will be integrated into MDS Analytical Technologies' cellular imaging product line. The IsoCyte™ instrument will become part of the ImageXpress® family of imagers sold and supported under the Molecular Devices brand products. The IsoCyte™ instrument, combined with MetaXpress™ and AcuityXpress® software enables the adoption of true whole well, high-throughput screening for cellular imaging. Whole well imaging easily expands the ImageXpress® product family into image-based screening including whole organism imaging and whole well assays such as zebrafish and colony formation. The addition of this product also leverages MDS Analytical Technologies' existing customer-facing organization and operations. Blueshift Biotechnologies will now operate as MDS Analytical Technologies.
